昨晚侯孝賢睽違7年的新作《聶隱娘》在坎城舉辦媒體試片。原本看完片花之後很擔心會被國外媒體人抱以噓聲，畢竟寫實的武打場面看起來的確沈悶，沒想到映後卻是一片好評！

包括The Playlist、Variety、衛報、screendaily、The Hollywood Reporter等媒體都給予好評，尤其是The Playlist的Jessica Kiang給了A-的高分，目前所有競賽片中評價最好的《Carol》他給A，只略遜了一點。所有的評論都提到了這部片的美術、攝影和配樂都非常強大與考究，舒淇的表現也有幾家媒體特別提到。而以目前的賭盤賠率來看，《聶隱娘》的金棕櫚機會的確是最看好。

再來看看各家媒體是如何評價這部影片。The Playlist的Jessica Kiang說，'The Assassin' Is An Epic Visual Poem。Variety也說了，"Shot for shot, it’s perhaps the most ravishingly beautiful film Hou has ever made, and certainly one of his most deeply transporting. Centered around a quietly riveting performance from Shu Qi, the film is destined for a limited audience to which gore-seekers with short attention spans need not apply. Still, with a Stateside release already secured and passionate critical response assured, it should emerge as one of Hou’s more commercially successful and internationally well-traveled efforts."。The Hollywood Reporter: "Among the  film’s superlative tech work, major credit goes to production and costume designer Hwarng Wern-ying and composer Lim Giong for a highly original use of music, drumbeats and other effects to convey an unsettling modern mood."。衛報則是說了"The first film in eight years by Taiwanese master Hou Hsaio-hsien is a wonderfully-shot story of a killer facing a critical choice – but its meaning remains elusive"。ScreenDaily也稱讚舒淇的表現"Shu Qi makes the character’s steely resolution and conflicted heart entirely convincing."。

究竟《聶隱娘》有沒有問鼎坎城最高金棕櫚大獎的可能呢？現在看起來是有機會的，畢竟今年的坎城截至目前為主可謂雷聲大雨點小，多數電影表現普普通通，《聶隱娘》的確有些機會。但片子本身敘事性不足，不僅國外媒體有看沒有懂，文言文的對白也讓許多華語觀眾理解困難，導致一些負評產生，甚至有人說是本屆最overrated的電影。再考慮到本屆評審陣容雖然星光熠熠，但明顯好萊塢取向，而1998年侯導的《海上花》也是一片叫好，但最後空手而回。我想這次評審團大獎、最佳導演或是低標一點的藝術成就獎是最有可能的落點，比較肯定的是，這次侯導應該不會再空手而回了。
